NDIRANDE STARS WINS THE MANCHSTER MOTOR SPARES CUP



 Ndirande Stars are the Champions of the K2.5 Million Manchester Motor Mechanical Centre under-20 Cup after beating Nyasa Big Bullets Youth 4-3 on penalties, at Kamuzu Stadium

 The two teams played out a 1-all draw in regulation time, Kondwani Kucheza scored an earliest goal of the tournament having scored just two minutes into the game, but the Junior People's Team levelled the score line in the second half thanks to their super substitute Matamando Matchipisa's beautiful goal forcing the match to go into penalty shootout after 90th minute.

Ndirande Stars goalkeeper Hamid Msopa was the hero of the day after saving Happy Mphepo and Kumbukani Manto’s spot-kicks as Justice Zulu converted the last penalty for the Stars.

To reach the final stage, the Ndirande based side beat Griffin Young Stars 4-3 on post-match penalties while Bullets Youth cruised to the final after seeing off Blantyre United 2-1.

For being champions, Ndirande pocketed K500,000 while Bullets went home with K200,000.

In a third-place battle, Griffin Young Stars beat Blantyre United through penalties to receive K100,000 while the fourth placed team carted home K50,000.

Blantyre United’s Gift Namowa was voted player of the tournament and went away with K50,000. Namowa, Kondwani Mchiza from Ndirande Stars and Lovemore Lawrence of Bangwe Madrid shared the golden boot accolade after each scored four goals in the competition.
