Scorchers Trio Misses out on the final CAF awards nominees Shortlist

 

Scorchers Coach Lovemore Fazili and two strikers Tabitha and Temwa Chawinga have failed to make it to the final list of nominees for the 2023 Confederation of African Football (CAF) awards.

The Chawinga sisters were nominated for the player of the year award while Scorchers coach Lovemore Fazili was nominated for the coach of the year award.

Malawi Women's National Football team was nominated for the National Team of the year, after their extraordinary performance at the 2023 Cosafa Women's Championship where they won Gold.

Tabitha, was the top scorer in Serie A Feminine last season with 23 goals while on loan at Inter Milan from Chinese side Wuhan Jianghan

Temwa, helped Scorchers to win their first ever COSAFA Women's Championship in South Africa and has won two golden boots awards in China with Wuhan Jiangda.

According to a final list that was released by CAF yesterday, none of them is appearing on the final list.

The award ceremony will be held on 11 December 2023 in Marrakech, Morocco.
