Temwa Chawinga wins IFFHS awards
Scorchers forward, Temwa Chawinga, has been listed as the women's world best goal scorer by the International Federation of Football History and Statistic (IFFHS).
The Malawian International scored 51 goals for Wuhan Jiangda in all competitions
in 2023 season, she won the golden boot award in the Chinese Super League with
30 goals, netted 15 in the Chinese National Cup and scored the six goals in the
Chinese FA Cup.
The top 20 list also comprises of Kiana Palacios with
38 goals, Sam Kerr got 37 goals while Zambia's forward, Rachael Kundananji
netted 35 goals.
In male category, Cristiano Ronaldo won the similar
award after netting 54 goals, two ahead of Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappe whereas
Erling Haaland scored 50 goals on fourth.
Chawinga also
won the Cosafa Women's Championship golden boot with nine goals after helping
the Scorchers to win their first ever COSAFA Women's Championship in South
Africa
