Ekhaya Beat Wanderers Reserves to maintain 100% Record in the SRFA Top 8

Ekhaya United have beaten Mighty Mukuru Wanderers Reserve 3-1, at Mpira Stadium on Tuesday afternoon to maintain 100% record in the Southern Region Thumbs up Premier Division league top 8.

The cow Boys settled early in the match after finding the back of the net on the 8 minutes through Goodnews Mphande and on the 34 minutes Osman Bakali extended Ekhaya’s lead to make it 2-0 in the first half.



The second half started on a high note as the young nomads were lunching dangerous attack to level the match and it did not take long as Chifuniro Kamenya was brought down in the 16-yard box and referee award them a penalty, which was converted by Stain Mitengera.

However, Osman Bakali sealed the Cow Boys victory on the 79 minutes to complete his brace.

Speaking after the match, Ekhaya United head coach, Moses Chavula Praised his boys for the win, saying the intensity of the match was very high as Wanderers also wanted to collect all the 3 points but his players wanted the victory more than the young nomads.

“I am very happy for the victory but to say the truth Wanderers gave us a good game and I must applaud my players for the commitment which the showed as the match was 50-50 but the showed real character and we have managed to win the game”, Chavula Said

Meanwhile, Wanderers Reserve Head Coach, Safarao Pompi, said his team played very well but were just unlucky as they conceded silly goals.

“As you can see today, we played well but we just gave them the goals as they did not do anything extraordinary but we were just unlucky, but the overall performance was good because we were on top of the game,” said Pompi.

Ekhaya FC are on the top of the Southern Region Thumbs up Premier Division league top 8 standings after collecting maximum points from all the two games which they have played and their next assignment is on 17th November as they will Face FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Reserves, at Mpira Stadium.
