babatunde shines at airtel top 8 season 4 wards
Nyasa Big Bullets forward Adepoju Adebare Babatunde was the biggest winner at the 2021 Airtel Malawi Top 8 Awards as he walked away with both the Top Goal Scorer's award and Player of the Tournament at Mount Soche Hotel in Blantyre.
Babatunde walked away with K500,000 for being Airtel top 8 top goal scorer, he also cart home K500,000 for being Airtel top 8 player of the tournament,making it K1 million.
Speaking after receiving the awards, Babatunde was so happy for winning the awards.
"I have been in this country for five years. I have played for Masters Security and Mighty Wanderers, this is my first professional award and I am so happy", he said.
The Nigerian helped Nyasa Big Bullets win the Airtel Top 8 Cup for the first time after scoring eight goals in three matches including all four goals in the 4-1 victory over Mighty Wanderers.
He did not feature in the finals due to suspension, but he managed to break the records set by previous golden boot winners.
Babatunde also helped Masters Security to win the Carlsberg cup in 2018 and he sighed for Nyasa Big Bullets on a free transfer in 2021.
